Great Yarmouth's north beach set the scene for one of the most impressive North Sea coast catches taken there in recent years. Fishing the ebb tide last Saturday night, Norfolk enthusiast Mick Lambert winched out a total of 15 cod, eight of them over 8lb with the prime specimen a beauty of 8lb 6oz.

Great Yarmouth's Matt Saunders put himself through the pain barrier to win the World Powerlifting Championships for the 12th year running. Saunders had suffered major shoulder problems all year and decided to lift only 10 days before the competition.

Daisey lands a boxing first
