Gorleston Rangers U8C attended Rangers' presentation night at the Ocean Room to celebrate their first season together.

Special thanks went to Kelling Heath for their sponsorship, and to Chris Dunne and Graham Gibbins for their help. Thanks also went to Terry, Dan, Alan and Damien for their help with training, to mums, grandparents and supporters for being behind the girls week in, week out.

This first season was tough for the team, especially as they were the only all-girls side playing in the boys' league.

The team has gone from strength to strength and went from losing 15-0 and 9-0 to drawing 5-5, 0-0 and even winning.

The whole team gave 100 per cent throughout the season and it was nice to see them rewarded for their efforts.

Goalkeepers Izzy and Hannah C, defenders Hannah S and Mary, midfielders Kelsie and Sophie and strikers Aimee, Jess and Bri all collected trophies which were well deserved.

Special awards were given as Aimee collected clubgirl for her determination and never-say die-attitude. Players' player went to Mary who led by example. Manger's player was a difficult choice and could have gone to any of the nine players. Hannah S collected this award for her consistency and superb defensive displays.

Trophies were also collected by Molly, Merrick, Bethany and Clarissa who will go on to play for a Rangers team in the very near future.

Rangers U8C have their first tournament tomorrow at Old Catton, Norwich. Training Friday 6.30pm Wrougton, as usual.
