From petting baby lambs to seeing circus shows and joining a pirate treasure hunt, there is plenty to see and do in Great Yarmouth this Easter holiday.

Here is a round-up of some of the best events happening in and around the town.

1. Hippodrome Circus

The Hippodrome Circus is performing Pirates Live, which will be running until April 14.

Pirates Live is a water show featuring a combination of circus stunts and comedy scenes.

This year's show is set on Snake Island, where comedy duo Jack Jay and Johnny Mac race against evil pirate Captain Blackeye to lift the curse on an ancient treasure.

2. Sealife Centre

Great Yarmouth Sealife Centre is offering a VIP feeding experience with Noah, its green sea turtle.

There will also be a pirate treasure hunt across the aquarium, with children being encouraged to help Captain Careless find his lost treasure.

3. Funfairs and arcades

Joyland will be open from March 28 to April 14 and will continue to be open every weekend from then.

At the other end of Marine Parade, Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach will be open with two new rides – The Polar Express and Race-o-Rama - and a third, Ghost Ship, on the way.

People can also visit the Merivale Model Village's new retro arcade and amusements and take part in the mini egg hunt for the chance to win a prize. 

4. The Empire

Easter weekend also signals the reopening of The Empire on the seafront with a three-day line-up of live music, street food, DJs and the return of the iconic disco event, Boogie Nights.

Boogie Nights ran for more than 20 years at the Ocean Room in Gorleston.

5. Hirsty's Fun Park

Further away in Hemsby, the Hirsty’s Fun Park team is expecting more than 200 lambs and 30 calves to be born.

Children can take a trip to Farmer Hirst’s lambing and calving shed and might be lucky enough to see one of them come into the world.

There will also be an Easter egg hunt and crafts on offer.

6. Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens

Thrigby will be open each day from 10am.

Visitors can browse the site's collection of animals, including tigers, pandas, leopards, meerkats, gibbons, otters and birds.

7. Great Yarmouth Stadium

Great Yarmouth Stadium will be teaming up with Spedeworth International Motor Racing to host a series of thrilling motor racing events on March 31 and April 4 and 11.
