A trio of medics have completed a gruelling physical challenge to raise funds for the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service.

Martin Grove, Adam Wright and Rod Wells, of Beccles, Ormesby and Gorleston respectively, took less than four days to complete a 110 kilometre trek of one of Europe’s most challenging route.

They took on the sub-arctic challenge in North Sweden, braving subzero temperatures to conquer their goal - raising more than £2,000 for SARS in the process.

Mr Grove said: “The conditions were very arduous in places due to the terrain and temperature, but it was a memorable experience in a beautiful part of the world.”

The group had set themselves a target of raising £2,000 for the charity, which relies on voluntary donations to maintain its activity - but have now surpassed that amount.

Mr Wells completed the final 20km with a badly scalded foot.
