Big Brother star’s visit

PUBLISHED: 17:17 28 October 2010

THE runner-up on TV’s most recent Big Brother series will be visiting Great Yarmouth in December to preach.

Christian minister Dave Vaughan, 39, who comes from Pontypool in Wales, will be preaching at a meeting of the Agents 4 Change intercession group at the Star Hotel in Yarmouth on December 11, starting at 7.30pm.

The father of four became famous within the Big Brother house for doing an Ayatollah dance after completing a task, which is a celebration used by his fellow Cardiff City fans.

He lost out in the final of the 2010 series to Josie Gibson in August.

Mr Vaughan and his wife Donna founded the religious group The New Ecstatics which aims to spread the message of the Gospel around the world.

The group organises events around the country and has organised a Sloshfest tour across the USA during October and November.

The Yarmouth group Agents 4 Change has been formed to carry out God’s will to change Yarmouth.

Mike Jarvis, a spokesman for the group, said there were a number of similar groups within the Norfolk area, including Heartbeat in Norwich, but they were often small in size, sometimes with only between six and 10 members.

He said the aim was to try and get people coming along to the meetings and hoped Mr Vaughan’s visit would achieve that purpose by raising the group’s profile.

“We believe that Jesus wants to have a high profile and for people to know who he is and what he wants,” Mr Jarvis added.

He said the aim was also to bring fun into Christian teaching.
