Norfolk Police said it was called to the scene by the coastguard at 4.30pm on Saturday after a “metal cylinder” was found.

Photographs from the scene show a rusted object between some rocks, cordoned off by police tape.

An RAF bomb disposal team was sent to the beach to deal with the device.
