The showcase day of the Out There Festival in Great Yarmouth has arrived, with dozens of performers dazzling and delighting the crowds.

The circus and street art extravaganza, which started on Wednesday and runs until tomorrow, features 150 shows and 50 different acts. Most of the shows are free and taking place on the streets as well as the seafront and quayside.

At 5pm today, The Color of Time will see dancers and musicians parade along the Golden Mile and, taking inspiration from the Holi festival of colour, culminate in bursts of colourful powder paint being thrown amongst the crowds.

Hundreds of people gathered last night to watch French performers Compagnie Les Philebulistes present their high flying show Hallali. Featuring six trapeze artists, the show is performed on and in a huge ship like stage on the Sealife Centre Gardens. It will be performed again later today.

Joe Mackintosh, Out There’s artistic director, said there was “truly something for everyone” at this year’s festival.

“I guarantee they’ll be surprised and see something they’ve never seen before,” he said.

“There’s something for every age and interest and they will all have a lot of fun. And there’s so much of it it’s well worth people coming for both weekend days.”

The bulk of the programme is free but the indoor shows, performed at the Hippodrome, Stars Showbar and St George’s Theatre, are ticketed.
