Archant Norfolk

Those dreaming of a white Christmas in the region this year are going to be disappointed once again.

Forecasters have said this Christmas day is going to be dry and mild with the hills of Scotland the only place which might see some of the white stuff.

The 25th will be dry during the day with highs of 11C but it will be blustery. Dan Holley, of Norwich-based Weatherquest, said the average temperature for this time of year is 7C.

There will be a chance of rain during Christmas night but showers are more likely on Boxing Day as the weather turns more unsettled.

This wet and windy weather will stay in the region for the rest of the week but Mr Holley said forecasts currently show drier and milder conditions as we move into the new year.

The last widespread white Christmas in the UK was in 2010.

Snow was recorded at a weather station in Weybourne, north Norfolk.
