Trains were delayed between Norwich and Great Yarmouth this morning because persistent cows refused to move off the tracks.

The 6.11am service from Norwich got stuck at Acle around 20 minutes into the journey.

It took nearly an hour for the herd to be moved off the railway line, which runs parallel with the A47 Acle Straight.

There was a knock on to other train journeys in the morning but services are now running again without delay.

A customer service assistant for Greater Anglia took to Twitter to inform the public just after 7am that the cows had been “moo-ved out of the way.”
