Daytime attack on girl

Town centre shoppers could hold vital information about an assault on a teenage girl last Friday lunchtime.

The 17 year old girl was involved in an altercation with another teenager, and a 21 year old woman, who was a friend of the victim, was also hit in the stomach during the incident at 1.

The 17 year old girl was involved in an altercation with another teenager, and a 21 year old woman, who was a friend of the victim, was also hit in the stomach during the incident at 1.25pm close to Market Gates.

The suspect is described as 5ft 3ins, medium to large build with long straight black hair, wearing a black leather bomber jacket, blue denim jeans and black shoes.

There were several people in the area at the time who may have seen this incident and have information that could prove helpful to the police.
