Belton Charity Fundraisers handed out £2,800 in grants to nine local organisations at the April coffee morning at the John Green Institute, Belton.

The cheques were presented by the group’s chairman Jack Fuller and the money came from the group’s charity stalls at the JGI, New Road Sports Centre and Burgh Castle Village Hall plus income form the monthly quiz sheets. Since the charity stall and quizzes started, originally under the banner of the Friends of the JGI in 2006, it was announced the total income from them had just passed the £25,000 mark.

Recipients this year are the JGI Hall Trustees £500, East Coast Hospice £500, Ist Belton Scout Group £400, the Community Car Scheme £200, Young at Heart £200, Burgh Castle Village Hall £300, Belton Foodbank £200, Bohemians Youth FC £300 and the 1st Belton Guides £200.
