Foundation Degree students studying wildlife conservation and animal management at East Coast College know those answers after they took part in a weekend field course identifying the creatures of North Norfolk.

The students took part in several activities including bat detection, scat and track identification and small mammal camera traps.

The bespoke field trip was delivered by the Mammal Society at Overstrand Hall in North Norfolk.

Kerry Payne, head of higher education at East Coast College, said: “This was a wonderful opportunity for our students to research the local wildlife, develop their practical knowledge and learn field skills. We are grateful to the Mammal Society for their support, the feedback from students has been extremely positive.”
