Ormiston Venture Academy in Gorleston has hosted its annual and talent show event in the grand hall, with 11 acts showcasing their talents to packed out audiences, with song, dance and musical prowess.

The judges, Tyler Munro, Cameron Hodds, Miss Brand and Principal Mr Gilbert-Barnham, had the tough task of deciding a winner amongst the many acts.

Students taking part in this year’s show included Rebecca Rumney; Amy Sexton and Megan O’Connor; Sarah Watson; Jake Needham; Cameron Simmonds; Isla Marshall; Tobie-Regan Walden and Ellie Hutchinson; Fay Clark; Cody Lawes and Emmerson Loades; Ellijah Palmer and Toby Coleman.

The judges eventually decided that the top three in reverse order were Ellijah Palmer, Jake Needham and Isla Marshall.

Isla was presented the trophy by last year’s champion, Daisy Jennings.

The evening was a resounding success, with popcorn sales going directly towards Children In Need, raising £80. The students will also be raising money later on in the month for the charity.

Assistant principal at Ormiston Venture Academy, Ian McInally, said: “The students gain so much from performing on stage in front of such an adoring audience.

“It was a fantastic evening showcasing the best of Venture in so many ways. I’m truly excited to see what these students will accomplish in the future building on their cultural capital.”
