Great Yarmouth Charter Academy parents to meet principal in meeting over strict new rules
Parents will tonight meet the principal of a school which has hit headlines this week over its strict new rules.
Great Yarmouth Charter Academy, formerly the high school, has been the subject of national debate after its tough behaviour policies were revealed at the weekend.
They included confiscating phones for up to four months, sick buckets in classrooms for unwell children and a suggested bedtime of 9.30pm for pupils.

Though many of the stricter policies were relaxed in revised behaviour rules, which were released on Tuesday, new principal Barry Smith is keen to lay out his firm approach to improving the struggling school.
This summer the school, which became an academy under the Inspiration Trust in August, saw just one in three of its pupils pass English and maths - the worst results in Norfolk.
Tonight, parents will meet Mr Smith at a meeting held at the school from 5pm, which has been organised to ease parents’ concerns and answer any questions.
