King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn travelled forward in time to pay a visit to Year 4 children at Peterhouse Church of England Primary Academy.

It marked the start of the pupils’s new topic of the Tudors and it saw some of them dress in period clothing and get up close to the royal pair as they tried out armour and weapons from the time.

Headteacher Ryan Freeman said: “The Year 4 children loved the experience and were able to pick up an awful lot of information to help them in their studies.

“All of the topics in our curriculum start with a wow starter and the children get to enjoy a trip or a special visitor. We find that it enables us to hook the children in and enthuse them to learn more about the topic that lays head of them.”
