A tennis club that is almost 100 years old has received a boost, after a financial company served up a three figure donation.
Blofield Tennis Club, which was founded in 1920, has been given a donation of £500 by the Compass IFS Litd Charitable Trust, to help it bring on its youth members over the winter.
While the club has several members, its facilities are limited, and this donation means the club can hire a local hall suitable for its junior training sessions, and provide tennis coaching in the afternoons.
Amanda Lewis, club chairman, said: “I am very grateful for this donation. Our juniors will benefit from tennis coaching provided at reduced cost and the club will benefit from bridging the gap between the summer seasons.”
John Hughes, Compass managing director, added@ “Blofield Tennis Club has a flourishing junior membership section and we applaud their dedication.”
