Flood alerts have been issued for several parts of Norfolk as rain continues to fall across the county.

The Environment Agency said the River Waveney from Diss and the River Dove to Ellingham, and Bungay, could flood.

It said people should be prepared for flooding due to steady rainfall over the past few days.

“The river is likely to respond to further rainfall on Monday and rise over the course of Monday evening and Tuesday morning,” the agency said.

“Levels remain high around Needham Mill. There is the possibility of some minor flooding to low lying land, roads and riverside gardens.”

A flood alert is also in place for the Little Ouse and River Thet in the Breckland district of Norfolk.

The Environment Agency said the River Thet is most at risk of flooding in Thetford and Brandon.

In west Norfolk, the agency said the rivers Nar, Heacham, Wissey, Ingol and Babingley Brook could also flood.

“Do not walk or drive through flood water. Take care on riverside roads and footpaths. Take care near the areas of concern and monitor your local weather conditions,” the Environment agency added.
