COUNCILLORS gave the go-ahead for plans to build a house on Bells Road, in Gorleston, although neighbours had objected to the development.

The Gilarwest Developments scheme will see a house built in the gap between 23 and 25 Bells Road after it was unanimously approved by members of the development control committee on Tuesday.

Five neighbours had raised concerns of parking and drainage problems, however, no objections were made by the highways department at the county council or Anglian Water.

Planning officers said the proposals would be in line with existing proposals which would not affect amenities or adjoining dwellings.

The site had been subject to several previous applications for four, three and two terraced houses which were refused by the council on the grounds of overdevelopment.
