Gorleston man charged with murder

The man arrested in connection with the death of a woman in Gorleston has tonight been charged with murder.

A murder investigation was launched on Sunday after reports that Lorna McCarthy, 50, had been fatally injured at a house in Sussex Road.

A Home Office post mortem examination has now confirmed she died from a stab wound to the heart.

Norfolk police have tonight charged Barry McCarthy, 50, of Sussex Road, Gorleston, with murder.

He will appear at Great Yarmouth Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.
