Great Yarmouth has been rated the second best coastal resort for people that are looking to buys homes to relocate.

The resort came second in Interiors specialist Hillarys’ Find Your Dream Seaside Location tool.

It looked at factors such as the number of outstanding schools in the area, commuting times, quality of beaches and the number of bars and restaurants.

The research was in order to give potential homebuyers in Britain an idea of their most suited beachside spot.

Using this research it has been found that overall, the best coastal area to move to is Blackpool, followed by Great Yarmouth and Poole.

St Andrews in Scotland has the highest scoring beaches, Brighton is the best place to live if restaurants are a priority and Tynemouth is the ideal choice for those with little ones looking for great schools.

The tool was created after a poll of 2,127 UK homeowners conducted by the Hillarys team found 53pc Britons wished they lived closer to a beach.
