Police have cordoned off an alleyway near Great Yarmouth market place after a woman reported being hit by a mystery attacker.

Two police cars are on the scene as of 10am at the alleyway next to Santander after the woman reported the assault last night.

Detectives are talking to the woman, who claims she was approached from behind by an attacker, who hit her with an unknown object.

A police spokesman said the incident is not currently being treated as a robbery.
