Hemsby affordable housing survey deadline is fast approaching
PUBLISHED: 10:25 16 January 2012
MORE affordable housing could be built in Hemsby if enough people fill out a questionnaire to show there is a need for it.
Money for the project will come from the recent Stablefield development and funding provided by the Orwell Housing Association, the chosen development partner.
It is hoped to have the properties ready for occupation during 2013.
But before the affordable housing can be built, people must prove that there is a need for it by completing a survey.
The survey, being circulated by the parish council, is available at the Post Office, the village Spar shop and the medical centre.
It will also be in this week’s village newsletter, the Hemsby Herald.
Parish councillors are urging people to complete the form if they: live in the village and need an affordable home; are related to people living in the village and need to move nearer to give or receive family support; people working locally who cannot find an affordable home near to their workplace.
For further details call parish clerk Shirley Weymouth on 01493 731625.
The survey information is completely confidential, but councillors say it is a very important part of the planning and approvals process that we must go through.
The deadline for replies is the end of January.
