Plaque appeal funds stillborn baby’s headstone

A woman from West Somerton has helped fund a headstone for a stillborn baby by selling plaques.
Luchia Carter, 38, wanted to help her friend’s sister who gave birth to a stillborn baby boy, named Enzo.
The mother could not afford a headstone so Mrs Carter, who owns The House of Pallets, had the idea of selling plaques emblazoned with the message ‘fly high’.
Mrs Carter has sold in excess of 60 in the last month and has raised enough money for Enzo’s mother to order a hand-painted headstone.
Mrs Carter said: “She has been emotionally overwhelmed. I don’t think she expected such a response so quickly.
“I think she takes comfort from the fact that so many people know about Enzo now.”
Mrs Carter will continue to sell the plaques for £5 each, with all money going towards ornaments for Enzo’s grave and charity, Hana’s Gift.
