The Hemsby lifeboat crew were paged by Humber Coastguard at 9.34am to the vessel SanCarlos to reports of a person in cardiac arrest.

The vessel was found just off Thurne Dyke and moored on the north quayside where the emergency services worked on them for 40 minutes giving CPR.

Meanwhile Winterton Coastguard prepared the vessel for casualty extraction.

The air ambulance was called to the scene but due to high winds reported at the Norfolk and Norwich hospital helipad they were instructed to hold off.

The casualty was stabilised with a pulse and taken to the N&N by land ambulance.

A spokesman for Hemsby lifeboat said: “our thoughts go out to the casualty”.

Broads Lifeboat was stood down and returned to station. Also in attendance were MRCC Humber and the East Of England Ambulance and paramedic service.
