A father and son from Lowestoft took a big leap together as they raised money for three hospital causes.

Stefan and Jamie Jinkerson, 57 and 34, took part in a parachute jump in aid of three James Paget University Hospital sections - the Sandra Chapman Ward, The Louise Hamilton Centre and the hospital’s palliative care unit.

The jump was a latest in a number of charity activities the pair have taken part in, as they look to honour the memory of mother and grandmother Thelma, who died of cancer in 2003.

With her widower Eddie now also fighting the illness, the pair have recently organised pool marathons and charity football matches, but the parachute jump was their latest event.

Through sponsorship and donations, the pair raised £1,260, which was split evenly between the four courses.

Mr Jinkerson said: “We would like to thank everyone who helped us raise so much.”
