Repair work at an historic Norfolk church in a Broads village is ramping up a gear.

St Catherine’s Church in Ludham is seeing a programme of repairs that started in the spring and will continue for the rest of the summer.

The latest stage of the work will see major repairs carried out to its clerestory windows which have medieval glass.

The windows have been in need of repair for more than ten years.

While the scaffolding is in place for the repairs the church’s interior will also be redecorated for the first time in several decades.

It is expected that this work will continue until July or August and the plan is to remove all existing heaters and replace them at the time of redecoration.

During this time church services will take place in the newly repaired chancel.

The chancel was repaired from February to May. There was repair to much of the stonework especially on the great east window.
