A man has been jailed after pleading guilty to a stabbing in Great Yarmouth last January.

Jeremiah Abodunrin, 22, of Plumstead Common Road in London, arranged to meet a 27-year-old on Blackfriars Road on the evening of January 5 2017 in order to sell Class A drugs.

Upon meeting, Mr Abodunrin lunged at the victim and stabbed him in the chest with a knife.

The victim, who was living in Great Yarmouth at the time, was able to run away and received surgery to repair a single puncture wound to the chest.

Mr Abodunrin was sentenced at Kings Lynn Crown Court to seven years and three months in prison.

Detective Inspector Matt Dyson said: “Abodunrin’s sentence reflects the seriousness of the offence. This case highlights the level of violence we have seen associated with drug dealing in Norfolk and in the past year officers have worked tirelessly to tackle the issue through Operation Gravity.”
