A care home has held a party to celebrate one of its residents reaching the ripe old age of 13.

However, in his own years Stanly’s age is slightly closer to most of his cohabitants - equating to around 69.

Stanly is the care home cat of Ealing House, Martham, having been adopted by the home around a year ago, having spent two years roaming the streets,

After being captured, his microchip traced his original owner, however, they were no longer able to keep him.

He was then adopted by the home, after they discovered he had all the right qualities to be a care home pet - so that he became.

A spokesman for the home said: “With the details from the owner of his name and date of birth it was realised that this December he would become a teenager.

“There was no better way to celebrate than with a party.”
