A severe weather warning has been issued across Norfolk and Suffolk with ‘heavy’ snow forecast across the UK on Sunday.

According to Met Office, rural areas with limited access could become cut off and cars could get stranded.

Flights, trains and buses could also cancelled and delays could well be on the horizon on the roads.

An update on the Met Office website reads: ‘A spell of heavy snow is possible over some central parts of the UK during Sunday.

‘This could lead to road, rail and air travel delays, with the potential for vehicles to become stranded or public transport to be cancelled.

‘Rural communities with limited access routes could become cut off.’

The warning is in place from 4am on Sunday, through to 11:55pm.

However, local meteorologist Dan Holley has said the chance of snow in Norfolk and Suffolk will depend on the exact track of the low pressure this weekend.

He tweeted: ‘There is the risk of a spell of rain, sleet & snow across the region on Sunday - this very much depends on the exact track of the low pressure responsible, and the phasing with colder air on its northern flank. Still some uncertainty - watch this space.’
