The inquest into the death of a Great Yarmouth civil engineer has opened.

A fundraising page has been set up to pay for the funeral of a 28-year-old Great Yarmouth man.

Oliver Arnoup, 28, died on March 24 and the inquest into his death opened at Norfolk Coroner’s Court in Norwich yesterday (Thursday).

The court heard how Mr Arnoup, a civil engineer, was born in Norwich but lived in Middle Market Road, Great Yarmouth.

Senior coroner for Norfolk Jacqueline Lake said Mr Arnoup had died at home, and pathologist Dr Ragesh Logasundaram gave the medical cause of death at due to hanging.

Mrs Lake adjourned the inquest until August 1, 2018, to be held at Norfolk Coroner’s Court.

Since his death, an online fundraising page had raised more than £1,500 towards Mr Arnoup’s funeral.

The page said his death had “devastated his family and friends” and that money was being raised to “help give him the send off he deserves.”
