A person had to be cut free from a car after it overturned on a roundabout.

The incident happened in Ormesby Saint Margaret on Friday and two appliances from Great Yarmouth and Gorleston fire stations were sent to the scene.

The crews released a trapped casualty using small gear and they also provided vehicle stability and scene safety.

Two people were taken to the James Paget Hospital in Gorleston following the crash.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said they received at call at 8.32am to reports of an overturned car on the side of the roundabout.

They sent an ambulance crew who were in the scene within 10 minutes.

A female patient was treated for neck injuries. Both causalities were conscious and breathing when the crew arrived.

Johnathon Childs, Ukip county councillor for East Flegg, near Great Yarmouth, advised people to avoid the area in a tweet this morning.

  • It was a crash.... but one car and it overturned...? Ok so what did it crash into..thin air ? Stories like this need need the full details.... Let me tell you about my Friday stuck in traffic on the acle straight because of that crash... i call this road "the road of death"... I was driving towards Yarmouth on Friday, and a police car went by, blue lights flashing. It was a traffic accident and it must have been about 10 mins before me. I was stuck in it for over 40 mins as it was one lane open for both of us.. When i did drive by....it was 3 cars.. it looked like a big range rover ( I personally don`t like the way the people drive them mind you ) in the grass,it looks like it hit the back of a small car and crashed alot of the back. I think this car then hit the third one infront of it, but the damaged looked like alittle bit of the back corner on one side...I was driving and so did not get a good look at this car... but i feel it may had been facing the other direction, so both cars may have clipped each other and when braking the RR went into the back of one.. Again we need always full details of these reports from the police, its that simple. SO.... My point as i was laughing and wishing to shout "Wankers" to them all is.... Its a bloody straight road....why this crash..!!! Over taking, or simple driving to close to the car in front...? So please mister police, report the findings.. Anybody else saw Friday nights crash, let us know or pics if you have them...

  • The part I note is the attendance of two fire engines. Are they both counted on their call out statistics?
