IT seemed such a lovely ceremonial role to look forward to - unveiling the new village sign in Rollesby as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
But former mayor and mayoress, Cllr Barry and Mary Coleman didn’t expect a blustery wind to cause so much trouble to the unveiling - much to the amusement of everyone who attended.
The sign was unveiled during Rollesby’s Picnic in the Park with villagers and friends gathering to listen to the live and recorded music while enjoying a picnic.
The event raised £870 which will be divided between the village hall and air ambulance.
