Emergency services were called after reports of a man in an “agitated” state on the pier at Gorleston.

Police contacted the coastguard after concerns were raised for the safety of a man who was on the pier this evening (Thursday, June 8).

Sgt Simon Atherton, police control room supervisor, said the man was a “bit agitated” and a “bit upset” but added they had since caught up with him and he was fine.

A coastguard spokesman said Gorleston Coastguard and the inshore lifeboat at Gorleston were assisting police with the job.
