A clown who has been entertaining children across Norfolk for four decades is hosting a fundraiser amid his own personal battle with cancer.

Malcolm Mallet - or Bubbly Bingo the Clown, as he is more commonly known - has received unsuccessful chemotherapy treatment after being diagnosed with blood cancer.

The Norwich performer is now being treated with a drug called Ibrutinib and he is awaiting a CT scan to see if it is working.

In the meantime though, Mr Mallet is fighting back by organising fundraising events in aid of cancer charity, Big C.

The first event will be held on Saturday at Cadge Road Community Centre in Norwich from 11am to 3pm.

Norfolk Inflatables have donated bouncy castles for the event and children from the group NR5 Hub have organised raffles and games.

There will also be a head shave, music, entertainment and an appearance from Bubbly Bingo himself.
