An arts charity is inviting people of Great Yarmouth to share their memories, as it celebrates three significant anniversaries.

The year 2017 is a landmark one for SeaChange Arts - not only is it its 20th year as a charity, but in September its Out There International Festival of Circus and Street Arts has its 10th outing.

However, the biggest anniversary in terms of time is that of the charity’s base - The Drill House - which turns 150-years-old in May.

To celebrate this occasion, a new heritage project is planned to begin in the summer, which will delve deep into the century-and-a-half history of the venue.

Working alongside the Time and Time Museum, the new project will set out to find out more about the building’s past and the stories that lie within, and as part of this, the charity is turning to the public.

SeaChange is asking people to get in touch with stories, photographs and memories of the building down the years, as it looks to put together the project.

Veronica Stephens, of SeaChange Arts, said: “We’re keen to explore the history of the building and how that resonates with its use today.

“Through its use as a military training centre, to hosting community concerts and sports activities, there’s always been a strong focus on physical fitness and entertainment.

“This is something we’re continuing to this very day through circus and street arts.”

The York Road venue has had a number of functions throughout the years, and the charity is also keen to work with schools, local people, historians and performers, to collate as much information as possible.

Ms Stephens added: “We’re really keen to hear from anyone who has photographs of the building, memories, or stories.”

Once material has been gathered, it will then be contributed to the Time and Time Museum’s archives.

Anybody interested in contributing to the project can contact, SeaChange Arts on Facebook or drop into the Drill House in person.
