Sleet and snow could be on its way to parts of Norfolk once again this weekend.

Norwich-based forecaster Weatherquest said the county could see brief spells of wintery weather, mixed with rain, on Saturday and Sunday.

It comes as the west of England gets ready for freezing temperatures, snow and ice over the weekend.

Weatherquest forecaster Richard Jones said today (Friday, February 2) is likely to get off to a wet start with showers during the morning.

Temperatures will be around 6C to 7C, but will feel closer to 2C due to wind chill.

Overnight, Mr Jones said the showers will return, and will be followed by frost on Saturday morning, with temperatures as low as -1C.

Saturday will get off to a dry, cloudy start. Temperatures will be around 5C, with showers coming in from the North Sea.

Mr Jones said there was “definitely a risk” sleet and snow could be mixed in with the showers.

Temperatures will fall once again on Sunday, with a wind chill making it feel close to freezing.

Forecaster Dan Holley said: “Some patchy rain or sleet in western parts of the region on Saturday, but sleet and snow showers will become more prevalent near eastern coasts late on Sunday and through into Monday, occasionally feeding further inland.”
