Spate of bike thefts

PUBLISHED: 09:11 04 November 2010

POLICE are appealing for bike owners to mark their property following a spate of bike thefts in the Great Yarmouth area.

Within the last month, 32 pedal cycles have been stolen in the Great Yarmouth area, 16 of which had been secured by some means before being left.

Only one of the cycles has been recovered- from a second hand shop.

Police are asking bike owners to mark their bikes with a unique reference, which could be in the form of a postcode that is etched, stamped, indelibly or ultraviolet marked, and recording the cycle frame numbers.
