It took place on World Earth Day and also featured a special Pokemon Go Live element for young people to enjoy hunting strange looking characters on their mobile devices.

A spokesman for the clean-up said: “What a massive response to the Gorleston Community Beach Clean. We had around 115 volunteers with around 25 of those under 12 which was fantastic.

“We had stewards from Harbour Radio, MESH and Surfers Against Sewage with Kym from Central England Co op handing out goody bags, recyclable of course. Pokemon Go gamers added to the mix as part of an event for World Earth Day.”
