A man has admitted to stabbing a resident at a YMCA housing complex.

Tabo-Joshua Fungamwango, 23, of North Quay in Great Yarmouth, appeared at Norwich Crown Court today.

Fungamwango pleaded guilty to wounding with intent after the stabbing incident at the YMCA accommodation site on North Quay, Yarmouth.

Mitigating Jude Durr, said it had taken Fungamwango “considerable common sense and courage” to plead guilty.

The 23-year-old appeared in front of the court via video link from HMP Norwich.

He was charged by police after officers were called to the emergency in the early hours on February 12.

A Norfolk Police spokesman said the force had received reports that a man had suffered stab wounds at about 3.20am and the victim, who is in his 20s, was taken to the James Paget University Hospital.

Fungamwango was remanded in custody and due to be sentenced on March 22 at Norwich Crown Court.
