Filby’s gold medal success to take centre stage at Anglia in Bloom launch

The floral wonders of Filby are to be espoused at the spring launch of Anglia in Bloom.

On March 9 at the launch in Cambridge, Derek Nicker from Filby in Bloom will be revealing some secrets of the village’s success and talking about how they have consistently achieved so many gold awards.

Last year Filby achieved gold medals and were voted best village in both Great Yarmouth in Bloom and Anglia in Bloom and then went on to achieve the same result at Britain in Bloom.

Filby entered the Anglia In Bloom competition for the first time in 1995, had its initial success in 1997 and has participated in the event every year since.

The launch event is at Scotsdale Garden Centre, Great Shelford, Cambridge.

The other guest speaker is Dr Manos Kanellos from Growth Technology who will be sharing his expertise on orchids.
