Thirty-six players turned out to play in the opening of the Acle outdoor bowls green and on a fast running green competition was friendly and fun.

The highlight was club president 90-year-old Pat Tubby watching a 12-year-old girl Tia Linford win his trophy, The Tubby Cup . The Piper Cup was won by club treasurer John Annis.

Club chairman Roy Himpleman thanked all who made the day a huge success, and invited anyone who wished to join the club to contact him. The day concluded with a barbecue.
