A charity aiming to build an independent hospice on the edge of Gorleston is hoping to recruit more volunteers to help with fundraising.

A Volunteers Day is being held on February 25, at Shrublands Community Centre, from 1pm to 4pm to find out more about opportunities available within the growing charity - and to learn more about the project.

Community fundraiser Andrea King said: “Ten charity shops have now opened their doors and are thriving, due to the generosity of the local community who donate items, clothing and furniture. These raise essential funds for this much-needed currently unavailable local facility.”

East Coast Hospice aims to provide the first independent hospice for the residents of the Yarmouth and Waveney areas providing end of life care.

Andrea King added; “We need help to make this facility a reality and community support is vital to us achieving our goal of Raising the Roof.”
