A weather warning for rain has been put in place for parts of Norfolk with thunderstorms set to sweep across southern parts of the UK.

The Met Office yellow warning has been issued from 11am tomorrow until the end of the day with the warning covering southern and western areas of Norfolk.

But Phil Garner, of Norwich-based Weatherquest, said most parts of the county can expect to see some rain.

“There is a line of thundery showers coming from the east tomorrow afternoon and as it makes its way across the county, there will be nowhere that wouldn’t see showers,” he said.

Any thunderstorms over eastern England are likely to move through quickly but the warning does state the risk of flooding and power cuts.

It adds: “Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures and where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays to train and bus services.”
