A Great Yarmouth woman died of “severe emaciation”, an inquest opening has heard.

Norfolk Coroner’s Court was told on Monday (October 8) that Skye Hodges, 42, was last seen on May 16 at home on Elderbush Lane in the town by a friend who had delivered shopping to her.

The statement from her friend, read to the court by assistant coroner for Norfolk Johanna Thompson, also noted that Ms Hodges, who was born in London, had been complaining of stomach pain but refused to seek medical help.

Ms Thompson said that Ms Hodges was found “unresponsive” at her home on June 3 and that her medical cause of death was later given as “severe emaciation” and “schizophrenia”.

The full inquest will be held on November 16 at Norfolk Coroner’s Court in Norwich.
