Members of Great Yarmouth’s weekly #GYHour on Twitter marked the start of the tourist season this week with homemade cakes at their third TweetUp networking meeting, at refurbished Sara’s Tearooms in the Pleasure Beach Gardens.

It was a chance for local business people to meet face-to-face with fellow representatives from local firms who they had met on Twitter on the Tuesday night #GYHour online networking event.

The bi-monthly event, which is organised by Vick Smith of GYSocialMedia, attracted representatives from Yarmouth’s local tourism, financial services, creative, marketing and estate agency businesses.

Photographer Andrew Perkins commented: “As a relative newbie to #GYHour it was great to meet up with other tweeters I had talked to online.”

Attendees were treated to homemade cakes and snacks in Sara’s Tearooms, a seafront café that has been totally refreshed with new flooring, tables and counter among the improvements for the new season.

The next get-together for tweeters will be at the Wind Energy Museum’s new education centre in Repps-With-Bastwick on Monday, June 9 at noon.

You can join GYHour on Tuesdays at 7pm by searching on Twitter for #GYHour.
