IT’S the breeding season for seagulls and rooftops in Great Yarmouth town centre resound to the shrill shrieks of young calling for parents to feed them.

In some cases, the young seagull falls from the nest during his or her first tottering steps, and if mum and dad have others to look after the awol bird will have to make it’s own way in life.

Here’s a picture of one such young bird in Yarmouth, it can’t fly yet but recognises the corpse of another young seagull – hit and killed in a car park – could be a tasty and nutritious way of gaining strength.
