At home to bottom-of-the-table Lakeside, the Men’s A team were looking for a good win, still with a chance of winning the league and going up to the top flight.

Dan Mills, Brian Kirby, John Harris and Ivan Borrett went from 6–0 up to 6–12 down at 10 ends. By 15 ends it was 15–13. They scored four shots on the 19th end and finished at 24–18. Bimbo Meeks’ rink scored a five at the first end and by 11 ends were 10 each. They dropped a six on the 12th and a five on the 15th and lost 14–29. Alan Rowsell’s rink were 14–8 at 11 ends but by 17 ends were 14–21 down and lost 17–22. Barney Wymer’s rink went 10–5 up at 10 ends but by 17 ends were 13-16 down and lost 14–20. Result 69–89 and 1–6 pts.

This was a strange result and with Lakeside struggling all season they suddenly they came good.
