National Unlimited banger action at Yarmouth Stadium.

The action came thick and fast at the Yarmouth Stadium last Sunday as the national unlimited bangers returned to the track after a 10-year absence.

With well over 50 cars, including some of the country’ss top drivers and teams, the local drivers were always going to have their work cut out to claim the prize of a place on the grid for the world final in October.

Yarmouth’s Michael Allard continued his feud with Essex-based team the Midnight Runners which resulted in Allard being loaded up for the night after what was judged an illegal move when he turned round and gave a runner a head-on!

Caister’s Danny Sutton has been battling against Team Black for a couple of seasons but he couldn’t do anything to stop the progress of Jack Overy and Jack Foster jnr who both finished on 20 points after the four races,.

Overy took two wins on the night but a non-finish in the last race saw the pair of them finish equal on points and so both go through to the biggest race of the year at Ipswich in October.

This Sunday 5.30pm it’s a four formula meeting and the turn of the rookie rods to headline as they compete for the Norfolk championship. A good grid of cars is expected. The other formulas are all contact classes with action from the ministox, street stocks and bangers – Graham Utting.
