Great Yarmouth Town are looking for a new first team coach after Ross Catchpole’s decision to stand down from the role.

Catchpole will still be involved in the Bloaters’ back-room set-up but because of changed circumstances won’t be able to devote as much time to the job as before.

That has prompted the club to invite applications for the main coaching position to support joint managers Adam Mason and Martyn Sinclair.

The position will include planning and taking training sessions and match day support to the management team.

“Ross has had to make a difficult decision to step down as first team coach due to not being able to fully commit for next season,” said Mason. “He has a new home to sort and has had a change in circumstances at work. Whilst Ross will remain a Great Yarmouth Town player/coach he doesn’t want to let us down in the official capacity as first team coach.

“This is a great opportunity for a first team coach to work alongside me and Sinny.

“We would like to thank Ross for what he has done for us. He’s not going away but we need to get someone in for the week in, week out duties. Ideally the candidate would have a minimum of FA level 2 coaching qualifications and a high level of personal commitment.”

Anyone interested in the vacancy should contact Mason on 07947 635247.

The Bloaters are preparing for their second season back in the top flight of the Thurlow Nunn League, having recorded an excellent fifth placed finish last term. They begin their warm-up with a friendly against AFC Sudbury on Saturday, July 8 (3pm) while further friendlies have been arranged against Spixworth (home, July 15), Waveney (away, July 25), Sutton Common Rovers (home, July 29), Caister (away, August 1) and Acle United (away, August 3).
