Top return and winner of the Mark Alsop Memorial Cup was Mick Ellis on peg 36 with 11 whiting and one codling for 4lbs 11½oz.

Mick picked up a total of £183 for his efforts comprising £50 (Mark's mum's special prize.) £30 match winner, £89 from the main pool plus his section win (£14).

Second was Duane Lockwood with 11 fish for 3lbs 12oz collecting £85 (match prize 2nd £18, pool 2nd £53, section £14.).

Third place went to Trevor Elliot with 12 fish for 3lbs 4oz and Trev collected £61 (match prize 3rd £12, pool £35, section £14).

Andy Lawes filled fourth place, just outside the main money prizes, but picking up a sponsor's tackle prize and £59 for the biggest round fish with his 2lbs 3.5oz. Codling included in a three fish total of 3lbs 1oz.

Kevin Southey collected a sponsor's tackle prize for a nine fish catch weighing 2lbs 13oz and 5th place.

The biggest flatfish caught was an 8.5oz dab landed by Dave Forrester, which earned him £59.

Top junior Will Murray ran Dave close with an 8oz dab and picked up a new spinning reel and a bulk spool of line.

Each 10 peg section paid out £14 and the winners were: Pegs 1-10 Trevor Elliot, pegs 11-20 Duane Lockwood, pegs 21-30 Kevin Southey, pegs 31-40 Mick Ellis, pegs 41-50 Chris Halliday, pegs 51-60 Bob Canham, pegs 61-70 Paul Bluth, pegs 71-80 Steve Buttery.

There were more than 50 raffle prizes and together with the donations and money raised from match tickets, £ 856 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Care nurses in Mark's name.

This was the first and last time that the match will be fished to a weigh-in format. Next year's event will be catch and release.
